One of the great programs that the Merriam School of Music offers is Band Chops. If you’re a percussionist, this is a great way to get group experience in a fun environment, while still gaining the knowledge of traditional drum lessons. In addition to learning how to play, Band Chops offers students the opportunity to learn about the music industry and to develop recording skills. The instruction includes teaching pupils how to write and arrange songs, and lets them work with a producer as well. Students can sign up for Band Chops in their own pre-existing bands, or develop one through the school.
