Product Overview
The Kawai F301 three-pedal unit for the Kawai ES8 provides a grand piano experience with sustain, sostenuto, and soft pedaling capabilities.
Grand Piano Pedal Experience
If you’re familiar with advanced classical repertoire, you’ll know that many pieces require the use of all three pedals found in the acoustic grand piano; the soft, sostenuto, and damper pedal. The F301 provides this three-pedal experience, and even offers the more nuanced ‘soft pedaling’ capability. If you’re looking to play classical music and you’re targeting the ES8, the F301 is a must-add.
Elegant Appearance
Few things are as elegant or classic in appearance as the acoustic grand piano. The hanging pedal lyre underneath a grand piano is an essential part of this. Rather than the upright style triple pedalboard accessory found with many other digital pianos, the F301 looks just like the grand piano hanging pedal lyre.
Requires HM4 to Function
It’s important to know that if you’ve decided on the ES8 and you know you want to add the F301, the HM4 is required for the F301 to function. While you can buy the HML4 and don’t necessarily need to add the F301, the reverse isn’t true.
Expert Advice
If you’ve decided on the ES8 and it’s not something you’ll be frequently taking on the go (but still have the option to regardless), and if you play classical music, regardless of level, we recommend adding the F301.
The response is excellent and the feel authentic, even for those used to playing on an acoustic grand piano.
