Mark Harry is originally from Detroit, Michigan born of Greek and Spanish-Mexican heritage. Raised in a musical home allowed him to learn the piano and trumpet, at an early age. Mark is a classically trained guitarist, but spent several years learning jazz and flamenco guitar, as well.
Mark’s guitar style is a blend of traditional flamenco, Spanish classical, Mexican, folk/jazz/pop. He composes and arranges all of his own music. He plays his brand of solo Spanish guitar at cafes and clubs in the Greater Toronto Area. He has appeared on television several times as a musical guest on the Rogers TV entertainment show,”Night Time.”
Mark also performs with Poet Laureate of Mississauga, Anna Yin, writing music and playing guitar to some of her poems. He keeps a busy schedule teaching guitar at the Merriam School of Music in Oakville and writes guitar articles for Merriam?s webpage.
Mark has just released his new CD, “Into The Night”. A follow-up to his 2013 EP release entitled, Quatro! Both of which were recorded and produced by Juno Award-winning engineer, Justin Koop.
My plans are to keep playing gigs, keep writing new songs and keep trying to get my music out there to the general public.
