Eric Wong is a Canadian professional musician in Toronto focused on performing and teaching music. Starting at the age of 6, Eric began piano lessons, and quickly picked up the saxophone at age 10. Eric has performed in provincial and national classical competitions on both instruments, and has represented Saskatchewan at the National Music Festival Finals in 2016 in the Chamber Ensemble category.
After studying classical piano and saxophone for many years, discovering jazz music led Eric from his hometown in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Toronto in 2016, and has been playing and teaching professionally around the city ever since. He plays saxophone, piano, flute, and clarinet professionally, and is involved with many projects around the GTA.
He has recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree at Humber College, and has studied with world class musicians including Pat Labarbera, Kirk MacDonald, Mark Promane, and Nick Morgan.
Eric’s outgoing and laid-back approach helps him connect with students in a fun and relaxed way.
