Beginning in 1977, Peter studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Helen Van Iderstine and, later, George McElroy. In 1991, he studied jazz piano at University of Toronto with Gary Williamson and Brian Dickensen.
Peter completed his Bachelor of Music degree in 1995. He has continued to study music, turning his attention to songwriting, singing, and guitar. Peter released an album of rock songs in 2010 called ‘Countdown to Philippines’.
His sophomore album was released a few years later. Peter has been on faculty at the Merriam School of Music since 2003, teaching all ages and up to RCM Grade 9/ Keyfest Artist Level. He is comfortable teaching all styles (classical, pop/rock, jazz).
