Coming from a family full of musicians and teachers, Erin Traynor has been surrounded by music from a young age. She began private singing lessons at a child and participated in choirs. She began guitar at age 13 before attending a vocal music program in her secondary education. During this time she continued to perform through choirs, trios, and musical theatre productions, including her performance as Elle Woods in her high school’s production of Legally Blonde. She also began tutoring music theory and teaching peers guitar at this time, which ignited her love for music education.

At McMaster University, Erin completed her Bachelor of Honours Music in jazz voice and a minor of English. During her time at McMaster, Erin was the vocal and music director of the student run show choir, Absolute Pitch, for many years. It was during her undergraduate that she began learning piano, and realizing her passion for it. Erin then attended Queens University for her Bachelor of Education for Intermediate/Senior vocal and instrumental music and English, with a focus in At-Risk Youth.
