Getting the right rhythm as a drummer is as critical as getting the right rhythm between a teacher and student. And at the Merriam School of Music, we’re blessed with several drum instructors who know how to do just that: lock in with a student, and deliver the drum lesson in a way that engages, excites, and inspires.
Finding committed, talented drummers isn’t easy. Drummers are amongst the most in-demand of any rhythm section players, and the better they are, the more frequently they can be found out on the road touring. So to find drummers good enough to tour, but also committed enough to teaching that they’re equally inspired by their students, is a needle in a haystack.
We’re extremely lucky at the Merriam School of Music to have found several of those such people. Drummers like Mike Siracusa, David MacDougall, Ryan Miliken, and Fil Bianco have and continue to perform with the very best in Canada. And at the same time, remain committed to their teaching passions.
