C. BECHSTEIN – SUPER CLASS PIANOS
Bechstein represents the pinnacle of piano building in the world. Not a single design or material decision has been made with cost in mind. Virtually every inch of the piano is hand-made to the Nth degree. And while other instruments may feature one or two similarities, not a single production competitor comes even close to consistently selecting the very best at every turn.
For example, it has the same soundboard material as Fazioli. It has a similar but superior resonator design to that of Steinway. It’s bridges and joinery are built to a higher standard than Mason & Hamlin. And it uses a similar plate dampening design to that of Bosendorfer.
And on top of all of that, they manufacture their own bass strings and hammers, entirely in-house.
Since the late 1800’s, C. Bechstein has dominated the premium piano market, achieving the same type of mythical standing in Europe as Steinway did in New York. Not only do they continue to build piano which are effortless to play, and deliver the highest level of build quality possible, but the company itself is strong, independent, and focused on continued growth and prosperity.

C. Bechstein Pianos features & Specifications
Many of C. Bechstein’s critical structural components are made of solid, non laminated wood. This increases the wood’s transference of vibrational energy to the sound producing parts of the piano. This includes the main frame posts, and the keybed.
The pinblock is the most advanced in the world, utilizing a combination of thick and thin solid plains of beech, mahogany, and maple woods, all at alternating angles. It creates an incredibly even tension on the pin which remains consistent in different climates, and with superb durability.
The bridge notching and construction system is the most precise in the world, at 1/100 of a millimeter. With capped, vertically-laminated bridges built to such a tolerance, virtually every ounce of subtlety is captured from the strings.
Their resonator system, the most advanced in the piano industry, takes what would normally be wasted vibrational energy from the treble section, and transfers it to the rim for additional amplification. Few pianos in the world use such a system, and it’s fully adjustable.
And finally, the carpentry quality in the rim posts one of the top two in the world – Fazioli is the only other piano to fit the rim, posts, and frame together with such precision and beauty. C. Bechstein’s feature triple joinery, ensuring maximum strength and energy transference.
Tapered Soundboards are planed and measured out so precisely that it adds close to 15% more sustain to the tone, vs. that of a traditionally-tapered soundboard.
