About Heintzman Pianos
Heintzman is without question the most famous Canadian instrument builder of all-time. When Theodore August Heintzman established his piano company in Toronto in 1866, he was establishing a legacy that would stretch well over a century. The detailed cabinetry, impressive musicality, and high-quality craftsmanship earned Heintzman pianos the nickname of “Steinway of the North.” By the 1980s, Canadian manufacturing of Heintzman pianos had ceased. However, the brand name perpetuated when Canadian investors relaunched Heintzman pianos and relocated manufacturing to China.
