About WM Knabe Pianos
William Knabe founded his piano company in Baltimore, USA in 1839. The company remained in the family until 1906. As Knabe pianos were well established by that point, the company was absorbed to become part of a larger musical instrument conglomerate. In the year 2000, the Knabe company fell into the hands of the South Korean musical instrument company Samick Music Corporation. In 2011, Samick divided the Knabe grand pianos into three lines and tiers: Baltimore (WG models), Academy (WMG models) and Concert (WKG models).
