Well Cushioned for hours of comfortable use
We spend hours at a time on a piano bench, and it needs to feel supportive and comfortable, without losing its cushion or structure – just like an airline seat or a great couch. The Roland RPB-100 uses high-quality foam that will both keep its shape over many years but also keeps the musician comfortable through hours of playing
Solid Wood Construction
All Roland piano benches including the RPB-100 are made of solid wood for optimal durability and longevity. Solid wood construction is available on concert-level benches, but it’s fantastic that Roland has committed to making this a staple on their piano bench line – not to be taken for granted!
Book Storage Compartment
Many pianos these days wind up in living rooms and home common areas, where the instrument needs to look as good as it sounds. Having a compartment in your piano bench to put sheet music/books into is both convenient and helps with clutter
Expert Advice: Comfort Is Worth It
Ergonomists and piano teachers alike will both tell you the same thing: sitting properly at your instrument is one of the most important first steps when learning the piano. Poor posture or an uncomfortable seat that causes you to subconsciously compensate will create numerous muscle aches and misalignments as you’re trying to learn your instrument.
The internet is full of inexpensive benches that use extremely poor quality vinyl, painted bases, cheap hardware, and very often don’t last beyond their first year of use. A high-quality bench usually starts around $200, with most ranging between $250 – 500. If you’re considering a bench that seems too good to be true, there’s a very good chance it is.
Be comfortable, and buy right the first time.
