The Petrof Piano company was founded in 1884 in what is now the Czech Republic. The company changed hands many times and was in state ownership for years. It is now currently back in the hands of the Petrof family, who have continue to build quality pianos. For many years the Petrof Piano Company supplied most of the institutions and music schools in Russia and Eastern Europe with pianos for practice rooms but as the price of Petrof pianos have risen, they have become less and less popular.

The Petrof model 118 is considered a great choice and is the most popular model from Petrof. At 46.5″ the Petrof 118 is the ideal size for a home or teaching studio and has a beautiful rich sound. This used Petrof 118 upright piano model was built in 1998 and uses a combination of components from Germany, the Czech Rebublic and Asia.
